Wee Notes & Breaking News

Welcome to Jodie

We always have time for some good news and in this case is it to welcome Jodie Douglas to Terrenus Land & Water.

Jodie studied at Glasgow University at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels in Geology and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. At Terrenus, we are looking to utilise both her geological skills and her computational capabilities and, in line with our onboarding procedures, Jodie will get involved in desk top studies, setting out of fieldworks, the description and assessment of soils for engineering purposes and the initial inputs for flood risk assessment as well as personalised in-house training. As part of this in-house training Jodie along with all our technical staff yesterday engaged in what we call a ‘Lunch and Learn’. The company provides the food but in Terrenus as in life there is no such thing as a free lunch and in this instance one of our own seniors (in experience as well as years), George, came in to discuss robust site investigation information processing. Speaking to Jodie this morning she remains cheerful and is building her own personal library of useful information which she will use in the months and years ahead.

As I have said previously, at Terrenus, we thrive by using a cross function team approach. Our staff undertake a wide variety of project types, under the tutelage of Seniors, to become what we regard as rounded professionals with skills in technical matters, word craft and project management amongst many other things. As time passes and opportunity arises our people can then move towards some form of specialism - one of the fundamentals of our company culture.
